Dear Sisters...

Awards season is always exciting, fun, full of surprises. Winners walk on stage, they take their award with trembling hands and they give shaky, emotional and hopefully inspirational speeches.
Today is also the firs day of the International Women Day week, so, even if I haven’t won an award (yet) I feel in the mood of giving my personal, very much unplanned acceptance speech. What am I accepting? I am accepting the beauty, strength, power, diversity of my sisters around the world. Sisterhood is not always easy. Women who stab other women in their back are still a too popular thing, unfortunately, but I have hope. I have hope for us because we are hope itself. So, I want to say thank you. Thank you to Viola Davis, Carrie Fisher, Billie Piper, Noma Dumezweni for showing to the world that beauty is made of talent, kindness, art and it doesn’t depend on the colour of your skin, of your hair or on the size you wear.

Thank you to Michelle Obama, Meryl Streep, J.K. Rowling for proving that intellect and courage are never overrated.
Thank you to Jamie Clayton and Ruby rose for teaching us that a heart capable of love belongs to a beautiful human.
Thank you to Elizabeth Siddal and MILCK for standing up to make sure that we know that the horrible things that happen to us are not our fault and they don’t make us horrible people.

Thank you to every woman who is fighting, thank you to every woman who is speaking up for the ones who have no voice.
Thank you to every soul that despite all the horror is still looking for beauty and joy. Thank you to every single heart who is not afraid to feed on beautiful emotions.

Thank you to every single human who fights every day to be free: free to love, free to speak, free to win, free to live.
The world is yours.
With love,
A sister.
